Today, the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection amended the plan to sell basic foodstuffs via the electronic card for the months of May and June to include only sugar and rice, while enabling the quantities to be received for two months at once, according to the citizen’s wish.

The quantities allocated for sale through the card for sugar were at a rate of one kilogram per person at a price of 350 Syrian pounds for a family consisting of one to four and for a family of five or six people five kilograms and for a family of seven people or more six kilograms while rice material is one kilogram per person at a price of 400 pounds Syria, 2 kilograms for two people, three kilograms for three or four people, and for a family of five or six people four kilograms for a family of seven people or more, five kilograms.

The Director General of the Syrian Foundation for Trade Ahmed Najm stated in a statement to SANA that citizens can take quantities of sugar and rice according to the desire for the next month or two at once, pointing to the presence of large quantities of basic supplies that are sufficient for several months in addition to the continued intensification of supplies of these materials through Many contracts are in progress.

The halls of the Syrian Trading Establishment had started in the beginning of last February the application of selling food through the electronic card.
