Washington (dpa) - Embittered and alone in the White House, fries and cola light within reach: Donald Trump does not want to accept this depiction of his everyday life in the corona crisis.
"The people who know me and know the history of our country say that I am the hardest working president in history. I don't know that, but I work hard and have probably achieved more in the first three and a half years than any other president in history, "Trump wrote on Sunday in one of several messages on Twitter that he commented on an article in the" New York Times "last Thursday.
The newspaper had drawn a picture of Trump's "strange new life," citing more than a dozen government officials and close advisors to the president. He is currently only in his office, the Oval Office, at midday, mostly in a bad mood after watching television since the early hours of the morning. He was focused on how the media rated his response to the spread of the virus. The newspaper further described that the press conferences on the corona virus, which Trump recently held almost every day, are the only thing he can look forward to.
Trump seems to be particularly annoyed by the passage, which says that he watches television in his private dining room and that fries and cola light are always available. He worked from early in the morning until late in the evening and then read a "wrong" story from the "New York Times" about his work schedule and eating habits, Trump was annoyed on Twitter.
Trump keeps getting critical media reports and accuses journalists of reporting on him incorrectly and biased. Trump recently also bothered about the coverage of his press conferences in the Corona crisis. On Saturday, he tweeted that he was reviewing these briefings out of anger from the media.
