Zirkus Brumbach is running out of money

2020-04-26T17:23:46.521Z

Mittenwald - It's slowly getting tight with the Brumbach family of artists. Your circus “challenged” a month ago from Tyrol and the puppet theater friend - a total of eleven people affected with five children - now live in Mittenwald on the edge of the subsistence minimum. "So far we have only received donations in kind, such as groceries, gas cartridges and children's clothing," explains boss Manuela Brumbach. "Now we're running out of money. In two weeks we will no longer be able to pay for our tax assessments, insurance claims and the repair of our tractor in Stams in Tyrol, including the standing fee for the circus wagons still standing there. ”

Fear of existence is spreading

How should it go on, when can we work again? Stefan and Manuela Brumbach deal with these questions day and night. "We are really afraid of existence." The municipality of Kochel, as the artists' home quarter, grants a small amount of financial support to support their livelihood. "Because we mainly appear in Tyrol, South Tyrol, Luxembourg and only occasionally in Germany and pay little tax here, we don't get any money from the government fund," explains the boss.

18 performances were planned in Haiming

Without the corona, the circus season should have started in March. "A total of 18 performances were planned in Haiming / Tyrol by the last weekend," says the head of the circus. "As a result, we are missing 8,000 euros alone, which we could use now."

Isartaler provide support

The people from the Isar Valley have not completely forgotten the circus. "Every Friday a citizen brings a couple of water bottles, and Franz from Mittenwald exchanges the empty ones for full gas cartridges," says Manuela Brumbach. "We also get baked goods, pretzels, rolls and sandwiches from the Zunterer alias Fasl-Bäckerei every now and then." There is no water connection or shower facility for the "emergency quarters" on the west loading street. "We can no longer use the Easyfit gym and the facility in the building of the German customs ski team at the train station because of the closure caused by the Corona virus," says Manuela Brumbach. "We are now getting our water from the public toilet opposite the train station." What remains and is annoying is the monotonous waiting. "We would love to perform and make money again," emphasizes the circus chief, adding that his wife, "that we can only wait and keep everything clean here."

Circus is happy about any help

The couple writes emails every day and tries to plan the next appearances. But without financial donations, "Schmalhans Küchenmeister" will soon take command. "Up until now we have been able to cover all expenses incurred in winter from the income from the summer appearances," emphasizes the circus mother. "Now we would be happy about every little offer of help and support." If you want to help circus people who are in need through no fault of their own, you can contact Manuela Brumbach on 01 60/91 92 42 88.
