Homs railways: transported more than one hundred thousand tons of materials at the lowest costs within three months

The quantity of loaded and discharged materials in the branch of the General Corporation for Railways in Homs during the first three months of this year amounted to 106215 tons.

Engineer Mohsen Mahmoud, the branch manager, stated in a statement to SANA that the empty materials included soybeans at 15819 tons, iron 6939 tons, wheat 3430 tons and corn 23290 tons, while 1546 tons of sand, 30267 tons of gravel, 15504 tons of fuel and 9,420 tons of iron stairs were remarkable. Until the transportation operations are carried out at the lowest costs according to the pricing system approved by the Ministry of Transport, according to the segments that depend on the distance and type of cargo.

Mahmoud said that work is continuing on many investment projects with the aim of increasing the financial and economic returns, including a project to implement a gravel branch from Hasia to Qattina Station, rehabilitate the Homs-Damascus line in cooperation with the Damascus branch of the railways and open the path of the Homs-Hama line in cooperation with the Hama branch of the railways In addition to continuing the work of casting railway beams, assembling stairs and breaking basaltic stones according to the projects needs, in addition to the ongoing maintenance work to prepare the trains and trucks necessary for the continuation of transport operations according to the available capabilities.
