Magnaji served regularly in Golani, and by 2002 was already a 30-year-old reservist and father of three children. "There was a strong sense of responsibility," Magnaji says. "You are called a flag. The war has no choice." One night, they entered the Jenin refugee camp to purge a terrorist home. The house was too exposed, and the commander in the field decided to clean another house. The steel door of the house was closed, and the MP put down a sabotage to open it.

As soon as the charge exploded, an inferno fire opened up on them from all the surrounding buildings. After a second or two, the soldiers rallied and sought a fire. Magnaji noticed that people around him were not responding, and then he saw a firebomb approaching and injuring his leg. After a few minutes, a young reservist came to his rescue and tried to lift him on the shoulders, but his weapon interrupted him.

A moment later, a string of fire came from above and hit the extractor reservist. He yelled in pain and was killed at the scene. Reuben dragged himself back to where he was before. As the morning dawned and the rescuers helped him out of the yard, Reuben realized that 13 of his gunmen had been killed.
