Italy, the country that has become the focus of Europe's largest corona eruption and the world's second largest number of dead from the virus, begins Monday with significant relief after the new virus death and infection rates have dropped significantly over the past week.

Among the approved reliefs are the opening of the parks and the possibility of visiting relatives while maintaining a proper distance and masking. Various types of stores will be opened and restaurants will be allowed to make deliveries and take-aways. The population will still be required to provide a suitable ballot each time someone creates from their home but the distance from the home they are allowed to go will increase.

Most measures are expected to gradually come into effect between today and May 18, so all restaurants and cafes will be allowed to return to work as normal, subject to the continuing disease withdrawal trend.

Dana, an Israeli student who studies in Italy and lives in Turin, tells Israel today that despite the optimism, the change in the country is not yet noticeable. "We continue to sit at home even now. The only change that is felt is that we can go running and get fit. If everything goes well, I guess we will feel the change from the 18th on," the student says.

Meanwhile, the government's cautious relief measures are strongly backed by the opposition. Matteo Slavini, a league party chairman who resigned from the government last year, strongly attacked the government, saying: "The public is united in its demand for freedom. After 47 days in jail, let the public work, earn, ”said Salbini.

Yesterday, Italy reported 260 deaths a day, the country's lowest mortality rate since mid-March. The number of infections, 2,324, is also low relative to the past week and continues the downward trend in infection. 26,644 people died from the Corona virus in Italy and 200,000 people died of the disease.
