  • In addition to a stringent traffic turning to the old town free of cars by 2025 be
  • There are also ambitious plans for environmental protection

Munich - same picture, other protagonists. The first red-green alliance was formed in Munich exactly 30 years ago. Mayor was Georg Kronawitter (SPD), Sabine Csampai of the Greens became third mayor. Now there is a new edition of this town hall government - with the opposite sign. Because the Greens became the strongest force in the local elections on March 15, the alliance is called Green-Red . The Pink List and Volt are also involved in the alliance. And the new city government presented its coalition agreement on Monday

Accordingly, OB Dieter Reiter (SPD) is flanked by Katrin Habenschaden (Greens) as second and Verena Dietl (SPD) as third mayor. Reiter spoke of a positive day on Monday. The negotiations were short and pleasant. Katrin Habenschaden felt the same way. “There was great will on both sides. There was no clocking. ”However, the green handwriting is clearly recognizable.

Munich: Government with spectacular coalition plan - major innovation in the old town

• Traffic: Green-Red wants to continue to adhere to the goal that 80 percent of the routes are covered by the environmental association (on foot, by bike or public transport) and vehicles with emission-free drives. The construction of the Giesinger footbridge and a connection via the Braunau railway bridge are also being driven forward. The car-free old town is to be implemented by 2025. The cycling decision will continue to be implemented until 2025. Bus traffic is to be expanded. Each year are 500 parking spaces for cycling or public transport are converted. Over the next six years, the tram west tangent , the north tangent , tram 23, 24 and one to the development area in the north will be built. Tram 17 is also planned via Johanneskirchner Straße to the SEM Nordost development area. The expansion of the subway is being maintained. A 365 euro ticket is to be introduced - initially for young people. Planning for the tunnels in Schleißheimerstrasse and Tegernseer Landstrasse is discontinued. This also applies to Landshuter Allee, provided that effective measures to protect residents are implemented.

• Housing: The complex housing and tenant protection stands for the new coalition under the motto "social and green city". The socially equitable land use (Sobon) will be further expanded. For this purpose, 50 percent of the land should be transferred to the city in new building land. The city can then pass on the land in the leasehold law with the corresponding permanent bonds. SEM considers green-red to be "an indispensable instrument of urban planning that should be used in the north and northeast". Here too, the goal of creating permanently affordable housing is paramount. A cooperative solution is initially to be found in the north. The creation of company apartments should be made a condition for the establishment of new businesses.

• Environment: The city should be climate neutral by 2035, the administration by 2030. There should be a climate protection department and a climate protection budget of 100 million euros annually. The public utilities should ensure a climate-neutral district heating supply as early as 2035, not just in 2040. By 2025, the Munich power supply should be climate-neutral on the balance sheet. The construction of photovoltaic systems is being pushed. The Isar is being renaturalized north of the Praterinsel , and urban brooks that previously ran underground are being opened. There should also be a “House of Food” that aims to promote the networking of regional, ecological producers and canteens, restaurants and hotels. The organic percentage in schools and daycare centers is to be increased to 100 percent by 2025.

• Personal details: In addition to the mobility unit, there will be another innovation in the city. The department for health and the environment is split up, henceforth there is a health department. And there will be a presentation on environmental and climate protection. It is conceivable that Stephanie Jacobs will remain a health officer in the future, but will have to hand over competencies. The Greens receive the right to propose the construction department, education and sports department, IT department, climate and environmental protection department, cultural department, district administration department and mobility department. The SPD has the right to propose the Department for Labor and Economy, Municipal Department, Personnel and Organizational Department, Social Department, City Treasury and the Department for Urban Planning and Building Regulations. The proposal for the new health department to be created is made by mutual agreement.

Munich: The Grünwald stadium is expanded - on one condition

• Economy: Green-Red wants "not only a business-friendly climate , but a climate- and people-friendly economy and" good work "for everyone". The answer to the challenge after the Corona crisis is a social-ecological stimulus package.

• Culture: The coalition wants to hold on to the refurbishment of the Gasteig, as well as the modernization of the city museum and the humoral museum in the cattle courtyard. In order to promote and preserve the club and night culture in Munich, the position of a night representative should be created.

• Sports: The Grünwald stadium will be expanded taking into account the results of the feasibility study. Surfing and canoeing on the raft area should be possible in the long term. In addition, a cross-sports hall for 2500 visitors is to be built. A concept is being drawn up for the more extensive (broad) sporting use of the Olympic Stadium . However, no motorsport events are to be held in the Olympic Stadium.

Both parties will now present the coalition agreement to their members. Online party days are on Saturday and the contract is due to be signed on Sunday.
