After the local elections, there will be massive changes in the Puchheim City Council. Eleven city councilors, some of whom have been with the company for many years, are leaving, and eleven are moving into the municipal committee. An FDP representative will also be present from now on.

Puchheim - Now things are getting serious: next Tuesday, May 5, the newly elected city councilors will be sworn in at the PUC cultural center.

CSU

The CSU faction had to give up in the local elections. She now has nine councils instead of ten. Wolfgang Wirth is new. The 47-year-old was surprised by his good result. He had put himself in 17th place on the list. He was pre-piled up to eighth place with 2676 votes. Wirth is well known to the Puchheimers, since he runs the last real butcher in the city on Lagerstrasse. As a trader, he also wants to work in the city council to ensure that smaller businesses survive. He comments that they have to move out at Alois-Harbeck Platz and move in a full-range supplier: "That annoys me immeasurably." Wirth is also a fitness trainer and emphasizes: "I can do sports."

Thorsten Heil looks forward to being able to help shape the future. Two years ago, he decided not only to complain about politics, but to take action. "If you want to change something, you have to participate." He had the impression that there was a lot of catching up to do in Puchheim. Although numerous infrastructure measures had been sent on the trip, little was actually started. Like the indoor swimming pool, which is closed but, as he says, has not yet been awarded a construction contract for its renovation. Heil now not only wants to contribute skiing and hiking in his free time, but also as a trained civil engineer in the city council to bring in his expertise.

The youngest new member of the CSU parliamentary group, Dominik Schneider, also has precise ideas. He cares about the business, especially in times like these, when, as a result of Corona, a drop in trade tax is to be feared. The city is dependent on the tax revenue, however, because there would be measures that will cost a lot of money, such as the creation of the new center, the renovation of the indoor pool and much more. Schneider does not want to increase the trade tax, but wants to make sure that more businesses settle there.

SPD

The SPD city council group shrinks. Instead of nine so far, only six Social Democrats, plus Mayor Norbert Seidl, will work from May. Josef Ehrensberger is new. The civil engineer wants to professionally support planning processes such as for the new city center. The self-employed are also important to him - especially now they are struggling. He wants to work for small businesses that also have the online trade in their neck. Ehrensberger has never made a single purchase online, he says. The 56-year-old is also committed to the integration of refugees. In his free time, he enjoys working in the garden, hiking and cycling.

ubp

Only four instead of six municipal councils represent the ubp. Jürgen Honold would have liked to become mayor, but is now moving into the city council. His focus: environmental protection, building and traffic. He would like an overall parent's advisory board.
And that Puchheim's companies are being examined for what they do for the common good. He also wants the new buildings and refurbishments in urban buildings to be thought of as ecologically sound.

Greens

The Greens faction was able to increase its municipal elections. Instead of the previous four, seven Greens will work in the city council in the future. Among them the "chick": 20-year-old student Stefan Krebs. The climate crisis made him active three years ago. "Climate concerns us all." For Puchheim, he would like improvements to bike paths and public transport. But the four-track expansion of the S-Bahn is also very important to him.

Cancer's future colleague, Anja Arnold, is also a student. She is currently working on her master, energetically optimized building is the topic. She would like to share her knowledge in favor of her hometown. Arnold prefers to go on foot or by bike. She likes to swim in the surrounding lakes - even now and without a wetsuit.

The third member of the Greens, Hans Knürr, is - somewhat atypical for a Greens - the company at heart. The industrial engineer is convinced: "If the companies are doing well, the city is also doing well." But Knürr was also active as a school assistant for years and witnessed the daily traffic chaos on Lochhauserstrasse and Lagerstrasse up close. He envisages introducing a one-way regulation in both streets or in at least some areas at least on a trial basis.

Free voters

The Free Voters' Group has grown in the March 14 election. Instead of two, there will be three representatives on the city council over the next six years, two of which are new. One of the two new additions is Gudrun Horn. She had also applied to be a mayor. As city councilor, she now wants to work for a barrier-free train station, among other things. The scientist wants at least one provisional. In times of Corona, the protection of vulnerable citizens is burning under your nails.

The Puchheimers are familiar with Michael Peukert, who has successfully campaigned against the geothermal energy project in the past. As a city councilor, in addition to the barrier-free expansion of the station, he will also campaign for a citizens' energy transition. Citizens should be involved in projects at an early stage and be able to identify better with them.

FDP

The FDP now also has a seat on the city council. The 50-year-old Martin Koch had applied for the office of mayor. He also advocates an overall parents' council - as well as transparency and citizen participation. Big shortcoming in his eyes: the very confusing information portal of the city on the Internet. With regard to the financial situation, priorities should now be set even more with regard to future projects. (sus)
