An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale hit off the coast of the city of Morsi Matruh in northern Egypt.
The National Seismological Center stated that the tremor occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers in the Mediterranean Sea off the city's coast.
There have been no reports so far of any casualties or damage caused by the tremor.
