Chad announced on Tuesday its first two deaths of patients infected with the new coronavirus. In one of its regular press releases delivering the results of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Public Health lists "2 cases of death" , without further details, in addition to the total of 52 people tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 since March 19 and the announcement of the first case.

The ministry also claims that 19 of the 52 patients are cured. Chad has not implemented any containment measures to date and the wearing of a mask is recommended in public places and spaces but not compulsory.
