It's best by far! Unfortunately, not everyone followed the rules in Leipzig today. We regret this very much and also check our own organization. Probably still needs to be practiced properly by all of us. #That's better pic.twitter.com/MMoLwSDFSJ

- Ministry of Defense (@BMVg_Bundeswehr) April 27, 2020

In the morning, numerous journalists, Bundeswehr soldiers and ministry employees stood close together at the press event . Among other things, AKK itself was criticized for not wearing a protective mask , although the reason for the date of arrival of a protective mask delivery from China was. The ministry admitted on Twitter that the right behavior must still be practiced correctly for everyone.

  • Masks must be made of permeable material - otherwise you will "inevitably breathe past"

10 million protective masks: Bundeswehr brings supplies

Update of April 27, 12.20 p.m .: The Antonov An-225 is the largest cargo plane in the world. On behalf of the German Armed Forces, the machine transported 10 million protective masks from China to Germany on Monday. They are part of a delivery of a total of 25 million pieces. Whether the masks are functional is checked with random samples before departure and later in Germany.

Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (CDU) - without a face mask - was waiting for the landing of the Antonov 225 at Leipzig / Halle Airport. Numerous press representatives were also invited to this event.

The minister, employees, members of the German armed forces, reporters and cameramen jostled. Hardly anyone had thought of mouth-nose protection. Distance rules were probably completely forgotten when looking at the "imposing appearance". On Twitter, this caused ridicule:

In Leipzig, an Antonov is unloaded full of masks by people who mostly do NOT wear masks. #AKK even without a mask. How dumb can someone be? #Mask requirement ” , twittered a user.

The @akk enters the Antonov without a mask. Thereupon dozens of reporters storm the plane, all close to you, half without masks and then AKK make a statement in the middle of the crowd.

Another criticizes the distance-free appearance of AKK as a PR show. Make rough comparisons about closeness with spouses and their love life. And writes: " What a signal to all those to whom contact rules are imposed" .

Scheuer also wants to wear a mask on ICE and IC trains

Update from April 27, 11:31 am : Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer is campaigning for a protective mask requirement for rail travelers. In his opinion, a mask requirement should apply to ICE and IC trains. From Scheuer's point of view, it would be a "system break" to do it differently in long-distance transport, as he said. It is important that the rules in rail traffic in Italy and France do not apply differently than in Germany, said Scheuer.

China of all people expects praise in the Corona crisis - and is therefore pursuing tangible plans, commented Merkur editor-in-chief Georg Anastasiadis.

Mask requirement in Germany - World Medical President Montgomery accuses government of failure

Update of April 27, 9.48 a.m .: World Medical President Frank Ulrich Montgomery calls on the government to equip citizens in Germany with FFP2 medical protective masks.

Montgomery accuses the German government of failure in an interview with Deutschlandfunk (Dlf) on Monday. Politics did not manage to get enough FFP2 masks early , he criticizes.

"Some rag in front of your face" even holds Montgomery dangerous. Viruses could accumulate there and lead to an infection due to improper removal and installation. He refers to the information provided by the Robert Koch Institute. In addition, a scarf or a scarf does not stop viruses.

Montgomery emphasizes that he would generally find a mask requirement with a working mask reasonable. "But I think a legal obligation for non-functioning masks is a certificate of poverty from a state," said the world medical president in the Dlf interview.

Meanwhile, an Antonov with millions of protective masks from China has landed at Leipzig Halle Airport. Around 25 million protective masks are to be flown to Germany with the help of the Bundeswehr.

Today we expect the arrival of #Antonov # AN225 at #LEJ #Airport for the 28th time. Important❗️If you are on site, please adhere to the applicable contact restrictions and hygiene rules. Thanks a lot.

Debate about corona mask requirement is emerging

Update from April 26, 5.45 p.m .:  While all German states have decided to wear a mask , a new debate is emerging . Do I have to wear nose and mouth protection when visiting a doctor? A first federal state is considering the introduction. This could be a problem especially for people with previous diseases of the respiratory tract.

Update from April 25, 8:28 pm: Officially, the  new mouthguard  obligation  only applies to shops and public transport. In principle, however, every employer can  encourage his employees  to wear appropriate masks when working in closed rooms. This emphasizes Dr. Wiete Schramm from TÜV Rheinland at Bild Online : “The new BMAS occupational safety standards  say that very clearly  . Where the minimum distance of 1.50 meters or no partition is possible, covering the  mouth and nose can become mandatory  . "

According to lawyer Dr. Knut Seidel can do anything from  "warning to termination" : "Because the employer is obliged to do this solely because of his duty of care."

Kindergartens or daycare centers are likely to be a major exception. “The use of mouth-nose cover for children is not feasible. Children would probably not use them properly. The risk might even increase, "warns Schramm. For example, when the little ones are constantly tugging at the actual protection and thus distributing the droplets even further.

Schramm goes on to explain: “ Educators could wear the mouth and nose cover to protect others. But the decision is ultimately the responsibility of the institution or the staff. ”When visiting the hairdresser, the calculation is simple:“ Protection is mandatory for hairdressers and their customers. The covering of the mouth and nose serves to protect the other. That means it only makes sense if both the customer and the employee wear it. "

Coronavirus: Mouth protection is mandatory in all federal states

First report from April 25, 4:09 p.m .:

Berlin - Some countries have already taken the measure, others now want to follow suit: Every federal state in Germany has now decided to have a  mouthguard obligation , albeit to different extents. In most countries, however , the mask protection requirement begins on April 27 and with similar regulations.

Corona virus: Duty of mouth protection in Germany - eleven million masks ordered from China scrap

But the steadily increasing demand worldwide for protective masks * due to the corona virus * has made it difficult for Germany to increase the supply of masks in their own country. Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer therefore personally took care of the delivery of eight million masks that found their way from China to Germany in early April. Then the CSU politician announced another mask replenishment, the procurement of which was commissioned by a company from Passau.

As his ministry announced, Scheuer knew the company from the constituency. The mirror reports about it . The politician even expected the coveted FFP2 masks

Corona face mask: The company in Scheuer's constituency of all countries disappointed him

The company, which actually trades in sports clothing, belongs to a Chinese owner. He knows "a lot of medical producers in Asia", the magazine quotes the managing director of the company. The first delivery from China from the beginning of April was still completely in order. However, according to new information, many of the FFP2 masks also ordered have not yet arrived, as the mirror  now wants to know.

According to the information, 30 million units were actually planned for Germany with regard to the current corona crisis *. But delivery shouldn't happen.

Corona virus in Germany: Scheuer commissions company to procure FFP2 masks - "all junk"

"There we saw eleven million masks, they were all junk," continued the managing director. The reason: the filters were bad, the tapes were torn After all, he learned mistakes, so he now oversees production in China.

In addition, he had already delivered some of the masks * - albeit late. For Scheuer, who had previously raved about his project in the local press, this should still be a bitter setback. Especially since it is not his first ...

Bavaria also introduced the obligation to wear a mask - Markus Söder is now commenting on further easing. At the same time, the CSU boss gives an insight into the road map for business and the catalog of fines for violations of the regulation on mouth protection.

To what extent is the corona pandemic reflected in the death toll in Europe? A study of mortality reveals astonishing things.

The railway has expanded its goodwill rule for tickets because of the Corona crisis.
