The National Assembly approves the strategy of the executive. After a debate and an advisory vote, to which the government decided to submit, 368 deputies (out of 571 voters) supported the much-awaited deconfinement plan presented in the afternoon by the Prime Minister . In total, 100 deputies preferred to vote against, and 103 abstained.

Some 75 elected representatives - at most - were present in the hemicycle, due to health rules, but all the deputies were able to vote. This result is not surprising, the government having an absolute majority of deputies La République en Marche (LREM), to which are added the elected MoDem. These two contingents of parliamentarians voted for the majority, with the exception of two macronists: Martine Wonner who voted against, and Hubert Julien-Laferrière who abstained.
Even in the event of surprise disavowal, the government would not have been obliged to give up its strategy: the ballot provided for by article 50-1 of the Constitution is only consultative. Unlike the binding vote, scheduled for May, on the bill that will flow from the deconfinement plan.
