On November 3 last year, members of the public launched a "Seven Districts Street" demonstration. Some construction workers were involved in kicking the calf of the police station sheriff outside the Sha Tin MTR station that night and were arrested on the spot. Nearly half a year later, the site worker was charged with a crime of assaulting the police. He will appear in Sha Tin Magistrates' Court today (28th) without a reply. The defense objected to the prosecution's concealment of the victim's identity, and complained that the police had covered the defendant's mouth during the arrest and prevented him from saying his name. The case was postponed until June, and the application for an anonymous order will be processed together, and the defendant will be granted bail.

The defendant, Lin Zhaoming (22, reported to be a site worker), was charged with attacking Sheriff X of the police station outside the A1 exit of Sha Tin MTR Station on November 3 last year.

The defense objected to anonymizing the police sergeant involved

The defense objected to the prosecution ’s application for anonymizing the principal. Acting Chief Magistrate Deng Shaoxiong mentioned that other cases have similar applications. The defense responded that different courts have different decisions on the application for anonymity orders, so each case needs to be handled independently. The defense then complained that the police had covered his mouth when he arrested the accused and prevented him from saying his name.

The case was postponed until June 9 for further hearings, pending the defense's request for documents and legal advice. Both prosecutors and defenses also need to submit written statements on the anonymous order when they next appear in court. The defendant was granted bail of 1,000 yuan. During the period, he was not allowed to leave Hong Kong, and he had to live at the reported address and report to the police station once a week.

The police sergeant involved in the case did not seek medical treatment but claimed a sore foot

It is understood that the prosecution plan indicated that at 7 pm that evening, there was an unauthorized assembly at the Sha Tin MTR Station. The police outside the station went to the reinforcements at the request of their colleagues in the station. When Sheriff X of the police station rushed into the MTR station, the defendant kicked his left foot to his left calf. X did not seek medical treatment afterwards, but claimed to have a sore foot. Be silent by the warning.

The three defendants involved in 9.22 participating in the riot will be referred to the District Court for trial

In addition, the cases of salesman Chen Leyi (24 years old), engineer Zhou Jinwei (23 years old) and real estate agent Huang Yilin (43 years old) also appeared in court today. The three were also charged with participating in riots with others outside the Shatian Good Luck Center on September 22 last year. Zhou was also charged with carrying offensive weapons in public places and obstructing office. The prosecution amended the charge today, deleting the name of the chief inspector, Lin Peiwu, who replaced the crime of obstructing the office, and replaced it with the number 58438. The case was postponed to be processed in the District Court on the 19th of this month, and three persons were released on bail.
