New HIV infections and deaths in Iraq, Morocco and Egypt

Today, Iraq recorded 81 new confirmed cases of the emerging coronavirus, bringing the number of infections throughout the country to 1928.

The Iraqi Ministry of Health and Environment reported two new deaths, bringing the total to 90.

The ministry said in a statement, which received a copy of the Sana correspondent in Baghdad, that 33 cases were cured, bringing the number of people recovered to 1319 injured, pointing out that the injuries were distributed in Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Kirkuk, Babil, Karbala and Najaf.

For its part, the Moroccan Ministry of Health said today that 132 additional cases of Corona virus were recorded in Morocco within 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in Morocco since the first case appeared on the second of March last to 4,252 cases.

Muhammad Al-Youbi, head of the Epidemiology Directorate at the Ministry of Health, said that three deaths were also recorded, bringing the number of deaths to 165, and adding 83 cases to the number of people recovering, bringing the number of those recovering to 778.

Al-Youbi said that the cure rate rose to 18.3 percent, while the death rate was stable at about 3.9 percent.

In Cairo, the Egyptian Ministry of Health revealed 22 deaths and 260 new infections with the Corona virus today in the largest death toll recorded by Egypt since the emergence of the virus in the country. The ministry stated in its statement today that the total number of infections in Egypt reached 5042 cases and the number of deaths 359 deaths while the number of recovery cases 1304.

The ministry pointed out that 30 percent of the total number of deaths in Egypt took place before the patients arrived at the hospitals, in addition to 20 percent of the deaths who died within 48 hours of their arrival in hospitals due to the delay in their health condition and their delay in seeking medical assistance and reporting their cases.

The ministry called on the Egyptians to go quickly to the nearest hospital as soon as symptoms of infection appear on them so that the medical team can implement the updated treatment protocol.
