The minister wants to immediately increase the quota of inspectors by another 250. Today, the supervised quota is 750 shackles. According to the Ministry of Public Security, there has been an increase in the number of detainees in the past month that the courts are seeking to investigate in the case of electronic supervised detention. In March, 157 new detainees were hired by the IPS supervisory unit, while in the months preceding March they received about half. 

At the beginning of the week, the number of detainees was 696, of whom 600 were detained until the end of the proceedings and 96 were released on parole. 70 shekels a day, while a monthly stay of a prisoner or a prisoner is estimated at 13,000 shekels, while the risk of infecting the virus into the detention facilities and prisons where detainees and prisoners will go down.

The Criminal Procedure Code, which deals with the quota of regulators, provides that this will be done by order of the Minister of Public Security with the consent of the Minister of Finance and in consultation with the Minister of Justice, as well as with the approval of the Joint Committee on the Science and Technology Committee and the Law and Justice Committee.

However, according to the proposal to amend the law, since both committees have not yet been approved, it is impossible to increase the quota by way of issuing an order under the Detention Act, but by way of an hour order until the validity of the Public Health Order is terminated.

Arden addressed the proposed amendment and told "Israel Today": "I encourage the use of prison alternatives such as electronic supervision when there is no need to arrest a person who is not a violent and immediate threat to their environment.
