The decision is based on the danger posed by the inauguration of the post of director general of the Federal Police.

According to the court order, it could produce irreparable damage to the investigation opened in the Supreme Court that studies possible crimes committed in the appointment itself.

Last Friday, Sergio Moro resigned from the post of Minister of Justice and Public Security.

According to Moro, this resignation was motivated by the intention of President Jair Bolsonaro, to politically interfere with the Federal Police by removing his boss.

Bolsonaro denied having carried out any improper act.

He stated that he had never requested privileged information and that the former director general of the Federal Police, Mauricio Valeixo, voluntarily resigned from his position.

He argued that he did not have to ask permission to exercise his role as President of the Republic to replace the chief police officer.
