How fast can you drive on roads west of the KIM business park? According to Krailling's municipal council, the maximum speed is 60 km / h. Mayor Haux has challenged this decision as unlawful. But the councilors remain persistent.

Krailling - The meeting on Tuesday did not bring an agreement: Krailling's municipal councils are temporarily sticking to their decision to set a maximum speed of 60 km / h on roads west of the KIM and a maximum tonnage limit of 7.5 tons. Mayor Rudolph Haux had put the issue back on the agenda because he considers the February decision to be illegal based on information from the authorities.

Speed limit and tonnage limit objected

Every two years, the district office and police, together with community representatives, take a close look at Kraillinger streets outside the towns. In May 2019, the various speed limits on Römerstrasse and Pentenrieder Strasse as well as the tonnage restrictions were objected to. Both are only permissible if there is a dangerous situation. The statistics of the Gautingen police, however, have no focus on accidents. The authorities therefore believe that the restrictions must be lifted.

Concern for the safety of cyclists

Most councilors see it differently. They worry about safety given the poor condition of the roads and numerous danger spots. "There is a concrete risk for cyclists," said Mathias Walterspiel (CSU parliamentary group). He knows many better roads in the district of Starnberg with a speed limit of 60 km / h, said Rudolf Heidrich (FBK). He also considered it “irresponsible” to attract additional heavy goods traffic by lifting the tonnage restrictions.

Experience has shown that there are fewer accidents outside of town when speed limits are lifted, said Mayor Rudolph Haux. At a permissible 100 km / h, everyone drives the way they feel safe. The district office had already proposed a compromise in January to consistently arrange a speed of 70 km / h from Krailling to Pentenried and Frohnloh and only in the intersection area Römerstrasse up to the curve Gutsstrasse and at the confluence with Pentenrieder- / Fischerfeldstrasse to the bus stop at the fire brigade To reduce 40 km / h.

Another opinion of the district office is required

The local council was again unable to agree on Tuesday. On the proposal of Richard Siebler (CSU), he decided to request a new opinion from the district office before a decision was made. This should deal in particular with all danger spots on Pentenrieder Straße. These include the Fischerfeldstrasse / Sonnenweg crossing, the route along the fire brigade, the two parking spaces in the forest and the Römerstrasse intersection.
