This is how the world of Powerball lottery works 1:23

(CNN) - After playing the lottery for 30 years with the same series of numbers, one man finally won big. Twice.

“Joe B”, from Pueblo in Colorado, finally picked up his prize this Monday, after he was twice the winner last month and took two Powerball boots for $ 1 million each, the Colorado Lottery reported in a Press release.

"Joe B" picked up his award this Monday.

The lucky man bought two lottery tickets in March, one in the morning and one at night. Tickets, purchased from different locations, had the same set of numbers: 5-9-27-39-42.

Joe B has played that same number series for 30 years. Now, with a couple of million in his pocket, all that dedication has paid off.

As for what he plans to do with the money, he told lottery staff that "the boss," also known as his wife, "has plans."

Although the chances of winning the lottery twice in the same day are slim, this has happened before.

Earlier this year, a man in Delaware accidentally bought two of the same Powerball lottery tickets, which led to him winning $ 100,000 before the tax deduction.

The same thing happened to a woman in Virginia in 2012. She also mistakenly bought two Powerball tickets with the same series of numbers and, exactly like “Joe B,” won two $ 1 million prizes.

However, in Colorado, this kind of curiosity has not happened before with Powerball, Meghan Dougherty, communications manager for the Colorado Lottery, told CNN.

Although, it did happen with Cash 5 and Pick 3, where some people won multiple times in a single draw. However, those prizes were around $ 20,000, nothing close to "Joe B's" $ 1 million prizes.
