LONDON-SANA, UK health experts have warned of the risk of increasing numbers of deaths from cancer in the thousands, as a result of not receiving it

Health experts in Britain have warned of the danger of increasing numbers of deaths from cancer in thousands as a result of patients not receiving the necessary treatment and health care due to the great focus on fighting the new epidemic of Corona and the resulting closures.

The British Guardian newspaper quoted the experts as saying in a new study: 6270 people in Britain have recently been diagnosed with one of the types of cancer and are at risk of death over the next twelve months as a direct result of the imbalance in the care and treatment caused by the focus on the Corona virus to add these to other patients Who have been suffering from cancer for years, when the total number of cancer patients who are at risk of death is 17915.

According to experts, this figure represents a 20 percent increase from 89,576 deaths among cancer patients recorded annually in Britain.

The Guardian notes that the Corona virus "Covid 19" caused 21,688,000 deaths in British hospitals, in addition to more than 4,300 deaths in care homes during the past two weeks, bringing the total deaths to more than 26,000 since the outbreak in the country.

The new analysis sheds light on some of the broader health effects of the epidemic as McMillan Cancer Support described the results as very worrying indicating that cancer patients should not be ignored due to the coronary virus crisis while the National Health Service Authority launched a campaign urging people with symptoms of any possible serious disease to asking for help.

The researchers concluded that some of the additional deaths expected would be among cancer patients who infected with the Corona virus and that others would occur because the diagnosis was late or because of late treatment such as chemotherapy.

According to the study funded by the National Health Service, approximately eight out of every 10 additional deaths will be among people who have recently been diagnosed with cancer and who also suffer from at least another long-term illness such as heart problems, high blood pressure, obesity or diabetes.

A patient with bowel cancer told the Guardian that he had performed a CT scan, but the planned colonoscopy "diagnostic procedure" in a hospital in southwest England was postponed for an indefinite period because the hospital's endoscopy department was closed due to the Corona crisis.
