The number of deaths from the Corona virus in the United Kingdom rose dramatically to more than 26,000 people on Wednesday, as those in nursing homes and homes were first included in official government figures.

The previous total number was 21,678 deaths from the virus, a number announced yesterday by the British Ministry of Health, but Foreign Minister Dominique Rab insisted "this is not a sudden surge." He said the daily death toll increased by 765 compared to the figures released yesterday. Recent deaths in England have included, among other things, a 14-year-old boy, who is not known for any background illnesses he suffered.

The British Public Health Authority (PHE), which announced the new morbidity data, has announced that the total number of deaths is about 17% higher than previous data showed. The new method of reporting deaths has included about 3,811 more deaths since the onset of the Corona virus, about 70% of which were "outside the various hospital settings," the PHE statement said.

Mortality data from Corona began to pick up starting in March, but experts say many people may have died as a result of the virus complications starting in early 2020, without being told by the authorities at all. The same experts are talking about another surprising figure that has not yet been verified - half the UK population may be carrying the Corona virus. If this figure is even close to reality, then it is a figure that can in many ways encourage us, as the death rate in the UK is very far from the numbers we feared in the case of mass infection.

PHE Medical Director Dr. Yvonne Doyle said she still cannot say whether the deaths in nursing homes are declining. The private, because the death curve in hospitals has already begun a significant decline. The death toll in nursing homes may be even higher than published, but this should not necessarily be considered bad news in the context of dealing with the disease, as we are in the dark when it comes to truth data from previous months.
