(CNN) - UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his partner, Carrie Symonds, announced the birth of their son on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for Johnson and Symonds said: “The Prime Minister and Mrs Symonds are delighted to announce the birth of a healthy baby in a London hospital early this morning. Both mother and baby are doing great

"Prime Minister and Mrs. Symonds would like to thank the fantastic NHS maternity team."
