Despite the precautionary measures taken to tackle the Corona virus, the General Railways Branch in Homs is working at a high rate to set the railroad branch project to transfer gravel returns from Hasia quarries into service as soon as possible, as its implementation rate reached 93 percent.

The director of the Foundation’s Branch, Eng. Mohsen Mahmoud, said in a statement to the SANA correspondent that the estimated transport capacity of the project amounts to three million tons of gravel receipts annually and aims to transport materials of good specifications from Hasia quarries to coastal cities after a decision was taken to close the quarries in these cities to preserve The environment must prevent more forest resources from being depleted, in addition to reducing pressure on road networks, transportation costs, and providing fuel consumption for the same quantities transported by truck.

Mahmoud stressed that the project as a whole has been studied and implemented by experienced national cadres despite the many difficulties encountered during implementation, noting the efforts being made by workers in the General Railways Corporation and the General Company for the establishment of railways and public sector companies implemented (military construction) and ( Roads and bridges) and (construction and reconstruction) and (military housing), which work to implement the project, despite the conditions of suspension of permanence in the framework of procedures to address the Corona virus.
