The Leclerc group is expecting an order for 170 million washable and disposable surgical masks which will be marketed from next week or from May 11. Wearing a mask will not be mandatory to access stores, announced CEO Michel-Edouard Leclerc on Thursday.

The Prime Minister announced it in his deconfinement plan: merchants will be able to prevent customers without protective masks from entering their store from May 11. " Not with us, " said Jean-Edouard Leclerc on BFM TV on Thursday. " We know very well that French citizens have very few masks and that it will be a race against the clock to equip themselves (...) it will be recommended but not imposed in stores ".
The 170 million masks ordered by the group " arrive ", assured Michel-Edouard Leclerc, " they are being reconditioned (...) they will be sold in packs of 10 at cost price, around 50 to 60 euro cents ”. The washable textile masks " up to 50 times " will cost between two and three euros.

They are not displayed on the shelves or at the cash desk but will be made available " in a dedicated space (...) where a protocol will have to be respected ," said the owner of the brand. " Normally, these masks are for deconfinement, " he said. " We must not redo the pasta with masks (...) and that the population rushes to buy it ."
