Freising - The banks will also return to normal operations next week - at least as far as opening times are concerned. From May 4, customers will again be operating at Sparkasse, Freisinger Bank and Sperrer-Bank at the usual times. Nevertheless, the money houses are still far from normal, emphasizes banker Christian Sperrer.
Sparkasse Freising
After three branches had been closed since mid-March, all financial centers and branches of the Sparkasse will be open again from May 4th. "The management board worked intensively with the workforce on a protection and hygiene concept to protect the health of customers and employees," reports Sparkasse spokesman Rudolf Gebhard. As required, the employees wear mouth-to-nose protection, in the customer conversation a window between the customer and the consultant brings additional security. "We also pay very close attention to the necessary distance requirements, the maximum number of people in a room and the hygiene rules."

Over the past few weeks, customers have not only made greater use of the Sparkasse's diverse online service, but also telephone advice. "Some of the customers were already somewhat unsure about the situation," reports Gebhard. The funding from the LfA, the KFW rapid loan and the Corona Aid umbrella had established itself very quickly. Outside the banking sphere, Corona emergency aid, tax deferrals and short-time benefits were used.
Gebhard emphasizes that the banks still have to live with the pandemic indefinitely. "We are therefore continuing to optimize our processes so that we can continue to provide fast and extensive help in the future."
Freisinger Bank
The Freisinger Bank also sees itself equipped to return to its earlier opening hours from Monday. "As soon as the first Corona case occurred in the district, we started with the protective measures that are taken for granted today," reports board officer Andrea Stommel. However, customers would currently be very cautious about personal appointments.
The bank has to do without some workers who prefer to leave their children at home despite existing childcare options. "Of course we accept that," emphasizes Stommel. "But it is also clear that we have to join forces." The locations in Kranzberg, Hohenkammer and Langenbach will therefore remain closed for the time being. Appointments with the consultants outside of opening hours can be arranged.

The bank's zero-interest offer for entrepreneurs has been very well received. "We deliberately followed the criteria of the Bavarian state aid in order to enable our regular customers to double the financial means for coping with the crisis," said General Representative Bernhard Nickel. Customers also greatly valued the possibility of suspending the repayment of existing loans for six months. "The cooperative values are currently more important than ever," emphasizes CEO Reinhard Schwaiger. "We want to support our customers holistically." This includes, for example, shopping aids for older people.

The Sperrer Bank reorganized its own workforce right from the start of Corona. "We wanted to make sure that we remain able to act in the event of any staff shortages," explains bank manager Christian Sperrer. “In this way, we were able to ensure that we were available to customers on all channels in the past few weeks. The cash supply was also ensured around the clock. ”
Now the private bank wants to return to a “normalization” of day-to-day business. In times of Corona, this means that all customers, service employees and consultants with customer contact are obliged to wear mouth and nose protection, as Sperrer emphasizes: "This means that we are still a long way from 'normal' customer traffic."
The work of the bank employees is made easier by the fact that the response and understanding of the customers for the hygiene and protective measures is great. Sperrer reports that there is still a strong need for information about the wide range of government aid programs for the economy. "In addition to increased trading in securities and equipping dealers with contactless payment methods, precious metals such as gold and silver are also particularly in demand right now."
