The intention of those who hold conspiracy theories is to sue China for economic damage, but I don't think taking that path will do any good.

(CNN Spanish) - The United States accuses China of unleashing the pandemic. China does not admit it, but it seems clear that the crisis started in Wuhan city.

For those who believe in conspiracy theories, Wuhan is the perfect match. Those theories assume that the virus was deliberately created in a virology laboratory, a few kilometers from the market where it was the epicenter of covid-19.

  • LOOK: New York Times: Senior Trump officials have pressured intelligence agencies to link the coronavirus to laboratories in China

It is possible that in that laboratory they were studying the different types of coronaviruses, but it is inconceivable to believe that they did it on purpose to affect the United States. Also, that leaves out a key question: why would China kill its goose that lays the golden eggs?

The intention of those who uphold these conspiracy theories is to sue China for economic damage, but I don't think taking that path will do any good.

China will not pay a penny. If it did, all the nations of the planet would claim their part and the country would probably be ruined.

For now, it will be limited to donating massively coronavirus prevention equipment such as gloves, masks and tests.

But yes, the crisis will surely end up sweeping leader Xi Jinping from office. His enemies, who have them, may manage to get him out of the way.
