Washington (dpa) - Since the worsening of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States in March, more than 30 million people have registered as unemployed.

The number of initial applications for unemployment benefits in the week up to and including April 25 totaled 3.8 million, according to the US Department of Labor. In the five weeks before, 26.4 million people had already lost their jobs.
