It was seven hours before the freeway was clear again. A transverse truck trailer on the A8 near Irschenberg caused an expensive salvage operation.
Irschenberg - Why the truck suddenly came off to the right of the carriageway on Thursday, April 30, around 9:30 a.m. The consequences were all the more serious. The last repair work on the open guardrail was only completed around 4:30 p.m., the right and middle lanes and the Irschenberg motorway entrance were freely accessible again.
As reported by the Holzkirchen motorway police station, a 43-year-old Bosnian with a Slovenian articulated lorry had crashed into the guardrail alone at the Irschenberg junction. Due to the impact, the truck broke through the guardrail and slid into the embankment behind. The trailer turned so that it protruded over the right and middle lanes.
The driver was moderately injured in the accident. The fire brigade freed him from the cab, then the ambulance took him to the Agatharied hospital.
The salvage of the truck was complex. The emergency services were there for hours to prepare the wreck for transport. The two affected lanes and the motorway entrance remained closed for so long. The amount of property damage was also impressive: around 80,000 euros.
The fire departments of Irschenberg, Weyarn and Au were deployed with a total of 38 emergency services and six vehicles. The Holzkirchen motorway police station and the Rosenheim traffic police inspection were on site with six patrols. The Holzkirchen Autobahnmeisterei took care of cleaning the road and securing the accident site.
