The areas liberated by the Syrian Arab Army from terrorism in the Idlib countryside extend over a wide geographical area in the governorate, especially in its southern and eastern countryside, such as Khan Sheikhoun, Sinjar and Maarat al-Numan, whose infrastructure of water, electricity, telephone, schools, and other networks was severely damaged by terrorist attacks and vandalism.

The director of the General Company for Electricity in the Idlib Governorate, Engineer Mamdouh Abdo indicated in a statement to SANA correspondent that the electrical system in the liberated areas was almost completely destroyed during the period of the existence of the terrorist groups, indicating that the amount of damage that affected the stations and power lines was evaluated, studies were prepared in this regard, and they were submitted to the custodian authorities for To its maintenance and rehabilitation in light of the available capabilities.

With regard to the city of Khan Sheikhoun, to which hundreds of families returned after liberation from terrorism, between the engineer Abdo, that an amount of 200 million pounds was allocated through the General Secretariat of Idlib Governorate and the Reconstruction Committee to announce soon the start of the implementation of a 20 kV electrical power line from the area of ​​Mork, adjacent to the city of Khan Sheikhoun On the international highway, the Hama of Aleppo with a length of 16 km, with the provision of 3 transfer centers, each with a capacity of 200 kVA and a low tension network, with a length of 6 km, with the restoration of the Khan Sheikhoun Electricity Department.

With regard to the city of Maarat al-Numan in the southern Idlib countryside, it is intended to feed it from the same line extending from Mork at a later stage, according to Eng. Abdo, who revealed that the total estimated cost of rehabilitating the electrical system in the city amounts to 8.2 billion pounds while it is in Sinjar district in the eastern Idlib governorate 4 billion liras.

Eng. Abdo pointed out the preparation of an emergency study to feed Sinjar and its countryside from the 20 kilovolt line that passes through the village of Al-Zaghba, with a length of 33 km as a first stage, and it is currently being completed, indicating that it is scheduled to be completed and put in service and investment during the current month.

On the level of drinking water projects, Eng. Muhammad Ajami, Director of the General Organization for Drinking Water in Idlib, revealed in a similar statement that work is currently underway to equip 4 wells after securing an ambulatory water system for the people returning to Khan Sheikhoun, in coordination with the Ministry of Water Resources and support from international organizations while extending The city of Maarat al-Numan with drinking water is subject to the provision of electrical nutrition, whether from lines or generators, with the aim of operating water pumps, indicating that there are about 17 water wells in the city, most of its mechanical and electrical installations were looted and vandalized by terrorists during the last period.

According to Ajami, the Idlib Water Corporation, with funding from the Ministry of Water Resources and support from a number of international organizations, recently prepared 4 wells in the Sinjar district, with its water pumped to the network, two wells in Tal Al-Karam, two wells in Abu Dahour and a well in Ma`rat Dibsa.

It is mentioned that in parallel with the movement to rehabilitate the water and electricity networks in the liberated areas of Idlib countryside, the education sector is also witnessing an active movement as the maintenance and restoration of a number of schools in the liberated countryside have been completed, including Al-Farahidi and applied activities in the city of Khan Sheikhoun and contracting to rehabilitate 3 schools From the various educational stages in the towns of Al-Mastouma, Mahmal, and Oram al-Jouz, a financial block of 3 billion Syrian pounds has also been recently monitored for the maintenance and rehabilitation of schools distributed in the areas and villages of Sinjar, Abu al-Dahour, Khan Sheikhoun, Ma`rat al-Numan and Saraqib to resume the educational process in it.
