With the aim of expediting the preparation of quarantine centers designated to receive Syrians arriving from abroad, the ministers of the local administration and the environment, Hussein Makhlouf, and the health minister Dr. Nizar Yazji and the governor of the Damascus countryside, Engineer Alaa Mounir Ibrahim, visited the quarantine center in Al-Hurgla in Damascus countryside.

The center includes 475 apartments, each apartment consisting of two rooms and a kitchen according to the hotel room system, so that the center will be a suitable place to receive arrivals from abroad who will stay in it for 14 days to ensure their safety and that they are not infected with the new Corona virus.

In another context, the reality of work in the popular market, which was opened two days ago in the city of Al-Kiswah, with the aim of providing vegetables, goods and materials to citizens at reasonable prices, was secured from the product to the consumer directly.

The Damascus countryside governorate, in coordination with the Kiswa City Council, created a popular market in the city center with an area of ​​three thousand square meters, and all necessary supplies were provided to sellers, including transportation and occupancy free of charge, according to the head of the city council, Mohiuddin Dawla.

A state asserted in a statement to SANA that the popular market is an excellent experience that aims to break the merchants monopoly of commodities and reduce their prices, considering that this is a positive intervention in the market to secure goods without intermediaries and with a slight profit margin.

A country pointed out that the city council formed a voluntary team to monitor the mechanism of taking the required health procedures within the market and applying the procedures related to tackling the Corona virus, indicating that the opening of the market during the current conditions will be from six in the morning until seven and thirty in the evening and that preparations are being made to open similar markets in a number of neighborhoods of the city of Al-Kiswah .

During the tour between Minister Makhlouf in a statement to reporters that the experience of popular markets began spreading in many governorates and towns and that the reactions of citizens proved the success of the experiment, they called for the opening of more due to the price differences achieved compared to others by at least 30% and this difference is caused by securing transportation requirements The works are free of charge for the sellers (farmers, craftsmen or industrialists) exclusively.

In a similar statement, the governor of Damascus countryside explained that popular markets have been opened in 10 cities from the governorate until now, and the experiment will be generalized to the rest of the regions to secure the needs of citizens at competitive prices, stressing monitoring the selling prices in these markets and applying health measures related to tackling the Corona virus permanently.

Ibrahim pointed out that preparations are being made in coordination with the Damascus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its countryside to open a market in the cladding complex to sell goods and foodstuffs from factories and facilities directly to the consumer.

In a statement to SANA delegate, a number of market sellers noted the great turnout that the market has witnessed since its opening, stressing their commitment to all preventive health measures against the Corona virus, as Haitham Hamdan considered that the popular market project brings great benefits to the seller and the consumer as vegetables and fruits are brought directly from farmers to the market without A middleman, while the seller, Ali al-Tayel, explained that he "sells cleaning supplies and other goods at wholesale prices".

A number of citizens praised the experience of selling in the popular markets in terms of price difference and securing the materials with good quality, as Ms. Hadia pointed out that such markets provided time and effort for the consumer to have a number of items in one place, while Samar Raja noted the existence of this market, especially during the month of Ramadan and the season of supplies. .

Walid Fansah pointed out that the market prices are lower than the stores outside, where he bought a kilo of tomatoes for 550 Syrian pounds and onions for 250 pounds and eggplant for 300 pounds.

At the end of the tour, the reality of preparing food baskets, which the charity is covering with the clothes, is prepared for distribution as part of the national campaign for emergency social response, which is the fourth batch of baskets distributed through it, for a total of 4000 baskets in addition to providing financial support from the Damascus countryside governorate to enhance its work.
