In the general election of the Legislative Council to be held in September, the Democratic Party has decided to send 7 representatives to the existing 7 seats, but in addition to the current Member of the Kowloon West District, Huang Biyun, the party's Central Committee and District Member Yuan Haiwen also intends to run. The West Kowloon Branch of the Democratic Party supported who voted in the election today (3rd). As a result, Huang Biyun won more support.

The Democratic Party currently calculates the final result on the basis of the "6.22" ratio, that is, 60% of the polls, 20% of branch members and 20% of regional party groups. Huang Biyun is more than ten votes ahead of Yuan Haiwen in the branches and regional party groups, but Yuan Haiwen was ahead of the polls, so the outcome of the battle is still unclear.

Yuan Haiwen also participated in the party selection in the last legislature election, but eventually lost to Huang Biyun, and was ranked second in the election of the Legislative Council in Huang Biyun's list. (Profile picture)

Members of the Democratic Party ’s entire Kowloon West branch, District Council members and Legislative Council members can participate in the vote today. The voting result will be counted into the branch ’s 20% score and the other 20% of the regional party group ’s score, which directly generates the total of this party ’s primary election. The result is 40%, so unless Yuan Haiwen leads the score in the polls, Huang Biyun has a good chance of winning the seat.

Today's voting result, Yuan Haiwen won 11 votes in the branch and the regional party group got 9 votes, while Huang Biyun, the current member of the parliament, got 33 votes in the central branch and 23 votes in the regional party group. Therefore, Huang Biyun has achieved great advantages.

It is understood that today's voting will be open from 1 pm, and then a consultation meeting will be held at 3 pm, and the voting will be completed at the end of the consultation meeting.

As for the polls that account for 60%, some members of the Kowloon West Branch said that the relevant figures are more complicated, but the support of Huang Biyun and Yuan Haiwen should be similar. Under these circumstances, it is expected that Huang Biyun will ultimately have a greater chance of being elected to Kowloon West on behalf of the Democratic Party
