The United States began to lift the containment measures in the same way that it had adopted them: in dispersed order. Although they still encourage to limit gatherings to less than 10 people until May 15, the federal directives recommending measures of social distancing and the wearing of masks have not been renewed.

In all, eighteen states have started to return to normal, while maintaining a number of rules. They relate to the authorized activities and the type of trade which may reopen, the wearing of the mask required for traders and consumers, and the maintenance of social distance measures or restrictions on gatherings. Seven other states are slated to do so this week.
Some, like Florida, whose governor, Ron DeSantis, has been frequently criticized for the late adoption of protective measures, have announced the reopening of restaurants, but only at a quarter of their capacity. Some counties
