British Transport Minister Grant Shaps today refused to make comparisons between the death rate of coronaviruses in his country with the deaths in other countries such as Italy, after his country became the second worst mortality rate in Europe.
Reuters news agency quoted him as saying that it should not jump to certain conclusions and that the full picture has not been clear yet.
The British minister rejected a proposal indicating that evidence of additional deaths showed that the government's response to the epidemic had failed, explaining that some of the consequences of the epidemic would remain unknown for a long time and that differences in age and health conditions in countries, as well as size and population density, were among many factors to be taken into account.
The National Health Authority in Britain announced today that 327 other people infected with the Corona virus have died in the past 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 21,180.
