On the night of Friday to Saturday, Doctor Alexandre Choulepov threw himself out of the window of the hospital where he worked in Voronezh, in western Russia. He was still in serious condition on Sunday and in intensive care with a fractured base of the skull. The word "suicide" does not appear in the dispatch from the Interfax agency which reports the news, citing the regional health department. Dr Choulepov's colleagues are convinced of this - the doctor tried to kill himself.

A case, the third in two weeks in the country, which testifies to the particularly trying conditions of the Russian carers vis-a-vis the Covid-19 and also of the strong pressures of which they can be the object on behalf of the authorities. Russia saw a record increase in infected people on Sunday (+ 10,633 cases, for a total of 134,686), even if the death toll remains much lower than in Europe and the United States (1,280 dead).
