Covid-19: Italy records its lowest death toll since March 10

Italy announced Sunday the death in 24 hours of 174 patients of the coronavirus. This is the lowest death toll since the first day of the country's confinement, which must be alleviated on Monday. The day before the figures had not been favorable: indeed on Saturday the country had announced the largest number of deaths in 24 hours since April 21, with 474 dead, according to the official balance sheet.

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte had announced this confinement during the night of March 9-10, explaining to 60 million Italians that the extension to the whole territory of this measure ordered two days earlier for the North was the only way to contain the pandemic. It killed nearly 29,000 people on the peninsula, according to official figures.
