“My daughter became safe hands from the moment she arrived in Syria .. She became safe.” With this phrase, Salam Faraf, the patient’s mother, Shaza Diop, started her words to correspondent Sana, announcing the end of many hours of anxiety and fear over the fate of her daughter who was subjected to a traffic accident in Lebanon, after which she was unable to receive the necessary treatment Because of its high costs in Lebanese hospitals.

The story of the patient’s suffering, Shaza, started with a traffic accident in the Lebanese region of Jbeil, her assistance to one of her hospitals, and her inability to pay the high treatment costs requested by the hospital, which amount to $ 100,000, after which the patient’s family appealed and appealed to the Syrian embassy in Beirut to work to enter it to Syria to receive treatment In her country.

The rapid response by the Syrian embassy in Lebanon and communication with those concerned in Syria was to transport Shaza within a few hours by sending an ambulance with medical staff and entering it through the Al-Arida crossing to Al-Basel Hospital in Tartous to begin the treatment journey.

The patient's mother shows that her daughter Shaza was in a hopeless condition, but after receiving her at Al-Basel Hospital and performing first aid today, she receives the necessary treatments for her to recover, explaining that the family’s ability to treat Shaza in Lebanon was impossible because amounts were requested that are difficult to bear.

The mother expresses her great thanks to the Syrian state represented by the Syrian embassy and the ministries of foreign and interior and health and the medical staff of the hospital for their full assistance and says "I thank the Syrian state in which we raise our head under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad."

Director General of the General Authority of Al-Basil Hospital Dr. Iskandar Ammar explained that the patient Shaza Diop came to the hospital through the competent Syrian ambulances and is in a critical health condition after a traffic accident that led to many fractures at the level of the cervical vertebrae and dorsal vertebrae and ribs and fractures at the level of the shoulder and collarbone and bilateral lung bruising The side, in addition to pelvic fractures, was immediately satisfied with the college, and immediately the necessary exams were performed and she is now in the intensive care department and is receiving treatment by a medical staff of various specializations in general, thoracic, neurological, orthopedic and urinary surgeries, in addition to the intensive care specialist. M has all the appropriate health services.

And Dr. Ammar indicated that the patient needs a long and costly treatment period, which will be provided to her completely free of charge, stressing the readiness of the Syrian hospitals to receive all cases for the Syrians and provide them with free treatment.

The story of Shaza is a humanitarian case, but at the same time it reflects the story of the health sector in Syria and state hospitals, which continue to provide treatment services in all its forms for free to citizens despite the years of the terrorist war that deliberately targeted this sector with its hospitals and cadres, and despite the blockade imposed by the forces supporting terrorism to prevent the modernization of hospital facilities and the provision of medicine .
