This is not the least of the paradoxes: the epidemic has driven patients from medical offices! For fear of being contaminated in the waiting room, of cluttering the professionals, or because of de-programming of acts, the patients have deserted in recent weeks the city doctors. Between an average week in January 2020 and that of April 13, 2020, the number of consultations dropped by 47% among general practitioners and by 71% among specialists, says Doctolib, leader in online booking. Ophthalmos are among the most impacted, with a 86% drop in activity, as are orthopedic surgeons (- 81%), while gynecologists experience the smallest drop (- 59%). As for dentists (- 95%), physiotherapists (- 96%) and podiatrists (- 96%), they are almost stopped.
