The question of reopening places of worship after confinement arises in all countries affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. It is very tense in Italy where the bishops - at odds with the Pope who does not support them - clash with the government. It has just softened in Germany, where, on April 30, authorization was given to meet again in places of worship on condition of wearing a mask and keeping a minimum distance between the faithful.

A decision taken by Berlin in application of the rights granted to religions by the Constitution. It was the Constitutional Court, the highest court in the country, which imposed this measure. She had received a complaint from a Muslim association protesting against the ban on Friday prayers during Ramadan. The complete closure of places of worship was considered by the High Court as a "serious intrusion" for religious freedom.
