These 25-year-olds in "precarious or modest" situations will get this help in June, announced Edouard Philippe in the Senate.

800,000 young people under 25 in “precarious or modest” situations will receive exceptional aid of 200 euros in June, Edouard Philippe announced in the Senate on Monday. "This sum will be paid at the beginning of June to students who have lost their job or their internship and to isolated Ultramarins who have not been able to return home", and "mid-June to young people who receive APL [Personalized housing assistance]", said the Prime Minister, who presented the overall deconfinement plan to senators.

Because of the confinement, many students find themselves in very serious financial difficulties. "University restaurants have closed and many young people have lost the jobs they need to eat," said Edouard Philippe.

Vote in the Senate

This measure is in addition to other aid provided to the most modest households. More than 4 million households should benefit from the "exceptional" aid announced by Emmanuel Macron on April 13 during his speech. This aid, modeled on the back-to-school allowance (ARS), benefits in particular households in difficulty with children under 6 years of age.

At the end of Edouard Philippe's speech, the Senate will debate and then vote on this global deconfinement plan. Tuesday April 28, in the National Assembly, the Prime Minister had been approved by a comfortable majority of deputies.
