Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi stressed that Astana's path to resolving the crisis in Syria is an important and essential step for ensuring security and stability in the region.
Mousavi said in a press conference today that the foreign ministers of the guarantors of the Astana process "Iran, Russia and Turkey" stressed through the video conference mechanism that they held recently, the importance of the continuation and continuation of the Astana meetings, expressing his hope that a meeting of the guarantor countries would be held in Tehran with the end of the outbreak of the Corona virus.
The Astana meetings began in the Kazakh capital early in 2017 and held thirteen meetings, one of which was in the Russian city of Sochi and affirmed in its entirety the firm commitment to preserve the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Syria and to continue the war on terrorist organizations there until its final defeat.
In another context, Moussaoui pointed out that America went out of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the international community and violated UN Resolution 2231 and therefore is no longer a member of this agreement to impose its conditions in it, stressing that America will not succeed in its new steps by seeking to make itself a new partner in the nuclear agreement.
Mousavi pointed out that some want to disturb the atmosphere and relations between the countries of the region, explaining that some marginal events that are being exaggerated are intended to influence the bilateral relations between Iran and its neighbors.
On the other hand, Mousavi announced that President Hassan Rouhani will participate today through the video conference mechanism in the Non-Aligned Summit, which will be held in the Azerbaijani capital with the participation of 46 heads of state of the organization, indicating that the summit will discuss the issue of facing the spread of the Corona virus.
