The new keyboard for Apple notebooks is already in the 16-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air 2020, and even the iPad Pro has an accessory with a similar mechanism keyboard. Who was missing? Only the 13-inch MacBook Pro that can now finally boast of it.

Unlike the last update of the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which grew in screen size from previous models, this new laptop maintains the dimensions of the previous model. But the Magic Keyboard is here, and that typing experience has been combined with 10th-generation Intel processors in various configurations and a doubling of base storage.

Better yet, there is no price increase. Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro will continue to start at $ 1,299 for the 1.4GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of solid-state storage. Education customers can get all 13 inches starting at $ 1,199.

With the new keyboard, the computer will have 1 millimeter of key travel with the redesigned scissor mechanism. The arrow keys now follow that inverted T design which helps you find the left and right keys more easily. The ESC key finally makes an appearance again and lives next to the Touch Bar and Touch ID sensor.

Apple has also increased storage on all models. The base model starts with 256GB instead of 128GB. If you need even more storage, you can upgrade the 13 inches to 4 TB. That increase in storage is paired with the latest 10th generation Intel processors. Apple claims that customers coming from a dual-core MacBook Pro to this 2020 quad-core model will see performance of up to 2.8X. Integrated graphics should also deliver up to 80% better performance than the previous generation.

The 13-inch screen here should be as vibrant as ever. That means streaming videos, looking at photos, surfing the web, and FaceTime calls should look great. It will even adjust the color temperature of the screen to better adapt to the lighting conditions of your environment thanks to True Tone. It has the specs to back it up, as it's a Retina display with over 4 million pixels and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

It still retains the Space Gray or Silver aluminum construction and a trackpad that we especially like as it feels big enough for multiple desktop setups. It has enough room to move from one corner of the touchpad to the opposite side to swap screens without feeling squeezed or having to lift and reposition your finger.

Apple's 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro is available for preorder right now and we'll be testing it soon.
