This year the budget of the 1920 population of Böbing includes almost 5.5 million euros. It is around 1.5 million euros below that of the previous year. The municipality is expecting significantly less tax revenue due to the Corona crisis.

Böbing - Mayor Peter Erhard said that the budget for this year was very conservative in terms of income and expenditure. This means that in the "Corona crisis year" the municipality wants to limit itself to investments that cannot be postponed. "Future investments" Robert Eder calls the expenses incurred in kindergarten and the designation of building land and their development. The chairman of the finance committee expects significant losses, particularly with regard to trade tax. "Short-time work will have an impact this year and next."

Mayor Peter Erhard has already announced in the latest council meeting that an additional budget will probably be required in autumn. "Because there will be a lot more to come because of Corona."

The administrative budget is EUR 3.5 million, the asset budget is almost exactly EUR 2 million. The municipality is certainly not short of expenses this year. The district levy alone amounts to EUR 549,000 at 54 percentage points. This means that the municipality has to pay 54 cents to the district for every tax euro it receives.

Investments in kindergarten and construction area

Another big chunk is the personnel expenses with 812,000 euros. After taking into account the state subsidies, there are still 314,000 euros to be paid by the municipality for the maintenance of the municipal kindergarten. And a further 300,000 euros were earmarked for the renovation of the kindergarten on the ground floor. 225,000 euros are earmarked for the purchase of the “high ropes course” property and another 300,000 euros for the “Ammerblick II” site planning.

All of these expenses would not be possible if the municipal treasury did not also get a good amount of money. The municipal share of income tax alone is 950,000 euros this year, 20,000 euros more than in the previous year. The key allocation from the country brings the community another 670,000 euros. When it comes to trade tax, Robert Eder cautiously anticipates 200,000 euros due to short-time working in the factories. Last year it was 150,000 euros more.

As far as the municipality's reserves are concerned, these are currently still at EUR 658,000. So even more than she has debts - currently 326,000 euros.

Incidentally, two years ago the community still had reserves of 1.8 million euros, which had to be looted because of the lavish investments. "I think we invested a lot in good times, but in this uncertain time we don't have to put aside essentials," said Boebings Mayor. The municipal council closed the budget.
