Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stressed the need to continue making efforts to reduce tension in the region and the world, especially after the recent American provocations in the Gulf.

Rouhani and Abe stressed during a phone call today, according to the media site of the Iranian presidency, that America should lift the illegal ban on his country if it is sincere in its claim about its willingness to help Iran in confronting the Corona virus.

"The illegal US embargo has been stepped up in the difficult conditions against Corona and its very severe economic repercussions," Rouhani said, calling for global cooperation to get rid of this pandemic.

For his part, Abe stressed that Iran is an important country and has a prominent role in maintaining security and stability in the region, stressing the need for all countries to cooperate in overcoming this difficult stage of the spread of the Corona virus.
