The Senate voted on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday at first reading the bill extending the state of health emergency, which it provides until July 10, and subject to "guarantees" for deconfinement.

The upper house, dominated by the right-wing opposition, adopted the text by 240 votes to 25, with 80 abstentions. It will now be examined in the National Assembly, Wednesday in committee, then Thursday in the hemicycle, with a view to final adoption before the weekend.
