From next weekend, public services can be celebrated again in the churches in the district. For now, however, nothing will be the same as it was before Corona. Strict rules apply to church celebrations. Not everyone will have space. For some clergymen there is a strict ban on participation. That is why not all churches in Erdinger Land will reopen now.

Dean: There is no fixed starting point

The message "Importance: high!" Indicates an e-mail that the Catholic district dean Michael Bayer sent to all parish associations. In it: The Code of Conduct for Celebrations Together. The pastor from Moosinning makes it clear: there is no fixed starting point. "Every parish association starts when all the preparations have been made and the necessary aids such as masks and disinfectants are available."

In order not to admit too many believers and thus increase the risk of infection, according to Bayer, "various systems are being tested" in the district. There are a few principles.

No children as altar servers

Church services take place either without or with only adult altar servers. They should also take on the editing duties, provided that adults from the community do not perform liturgical services. Bayer: "Everything is voluntary, nobody should be committed."

Baptisms and weddings should be postponed if possible. They are only possible in individual cases if distances and protective measures are guaranteed. Funerals in the Deanery of Erding continue to take place only in short form and directly in the cemetery, i.e. without a requiem. In this context, Bayer points out that urn burials should also take place promptly. Requires can also be celebrated later.

Sick pastors are not allowed to go to church

Members of high-risk groups, especially asthmatics, people with heart, lung and liver diseases, as well as cancer and diabetes patients, are not allowed to celebrate worship services or do any other pastoral work.

Bayer emphasizes that church services will continue to be available on radio and television, as well as local broadcasts on the Internet. So all believers could participate. Workday services are initially not planned due to the high cost.

Or just worship there

In addition, the dean referred to the possibility of a house service in the family community from the praise of God or one of the service templates that can be downloaded from the Internet.

According to Pastor Martin Garmaier, the first services in the Erding parish association will take place from May 9th. The space available will be significantly reduced due to the minimum distances of two meters - a maximum of 40 in the parish church, up to 24 in Langengeisling. Garmaier assumes that only about a quarter of the regular worshipers come to the train.

In order to be fair, admission cards are issued in both churches. Since May 3, they have been in the churches for the next two weekends. The parish offices remain closed as a precaution.

Advance registration or place cards

Garmaier announces that no Eucharist will be celebrated for the time being, the hygiene regulations for the distribution of communion are too high. A mouth-nose protection obligation applies to all church services in the district.

Pastor Josef Kriechbaumer, head of the Parish Association Isen, does not want anyone to put up with this effort. He continues to forego public celebrations for the time being and refers to the Internet transmissions from St. Zeno on Sundays and public holidays at 10 a.m. and May service at 7:30 p.m.

Isen doesn't follow

"We cannot currently implement the requirements," Kriechbaumer woos for understanding. Registrations and lists of participants would be needed. More than 30, 40 people could not participate. “This means that only a fraction of the faithful would have the chance to participate, while the majority would have to stay outside. In our opinion, a worthy service cannot be carried out for all believers under these circumstances. ”

Evangelical church is also ready

The Protestants take this step - for the first time on Sunday, May 10 at 9 a.m. and at 10.30 a.m. exclusively in the Redeemer Church in Klettham. Pastor Christoph Keller says that only this church is suitable because of its size. So that everyone gets a place - there are 42 - interested people should register at Tel. (0 81 22) 9 99 80 90 or by email: pfarramt@ev-kirche-erding.de. Mouth-nose protection and minimum distance are mandatory. Acute sufferers are excluded.
