PM and White Speaker Meet in Knesset before High Court Announces Ruling • Tonight Legislative Process Will Be Completed

Earlier today, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Gantz met in the Knesset Speaker's office and discussed changes that may enter into the coalition agreement between Blue and White and the Likud. On the agenda: Senior appointments, Norwegian law, the health portfolio and the possibility of extending the government's term of office to four and a half years, which will be shared equally. After the law is finally approved, 61 MKs will have to sign a request for the president of the state to impose a government train on Benjamin Netanyahu. The letter of application must reach the president's residence by midnight tomorrow.

In the meantime, in the Knesset plenary this afternoon, the votes for final approval of the coalition agreement began on second and third reading. Voting began at 4 p.m., and is expected to take many more hours.
A large majority of coalition parties voted in the elections so far. In all, about a thousand electronic votes and 16 more Semitic votes are expected - in which the names of all 120 Knesset members are read and each has to answer whether he supports the law or opposes it. The Knesset estimates that the votes will only end in the wee hours of the night or tomorrow before noon.
