Intelligence services in Seoul said on Wednesday (May 6th) that there was no evidence that Kim Jong-un had been operated on from the heart, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported, while the health of the northern leader -Korean has been the subject of speculation for several weeks.

The announcement comes four days after the North Korean official press reported that Kim Jong-un had attended the inauguration of a fertilizer factory in an area north of the capital Pyongyang, his first official appearance since April 11.
The North Korean number one had not taken part in the annual ceremonies organized on April 15 for the birthday of his grandfather Kim Il-sung, founder of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, an unprecedented absence which fueled speculation on his health.

Several American and South Korean media reported last month that Kim Jong-un was in serious condition following a cardiovascular operation, information questioned in official circles in Beijing and Seoul.
