Freising - Breathe deeply at the FOS / BOS Freising: While other secondary schools are to start teaching next to the final school pupils next week as well as the 11th graders, there is a special regulation for the technical and vocational secondary schools. Here, the youngsters of the eleventh grade and the pre-classes only return to normal operation on June 25th - two days after the last written final exam has taken place.
Those affected were informed of the special regulation drawn up by the Ministry of Culture on Wednesday. "We are very happy that it happened," says Jörg Matthes, deputy head of FOS / BOS. “We were very afraid that we would be here with 650 students next Monday.” A scenario that would have made protective measures against Corona absurd.
FOS / BOS also has to take a number of replacement tests
"Even with the 350 graduating students, we kept all the school's capacities while maintaining the safety distances of one and a half meters," reports Matthes. Normal lessons now take place in chemistry and physics rooms. And there is no way to switch to other buildings. So now the eleventh graders only come back when the written final exam has taken place. “We even have a day to catch our breath,” explains Matthes.
However, it shouldn't be far off with the breathing space. Rather, it looks like the one school-free day must be used for cleaning measures and new conversions. "And substitute exams and oral exams are still pending." A large number of students are currently registering for substitute exams. They are an option that can be pulled due to Corona failed schoolwork and short-time work.
Big question mark behind internships
"Actually, the missing performance records of the second half of the year are carried over from the first," explains school principal Roswitha Stichlmeyr. "If you do not agree with this, you can take the substitute examination in any subject" - with the option of being able to reject the grade if it deteriorates due to a "cheaper regulation". The school management is already thinking about the coming school year.
At the moment it looks as if teaching will take place in a so-called "rolling system" from September. "This means that pupils are given alternate school or home schooling, depending on the grade, on a weekly or daily basis." Many organizational questions are still open. Another problem: According to Matthes, behind the internships, which are currently not taking place anyway, are also big question marks for the coming school year, because companies, such as old people's homes, hospitals and kindergartens, cannot provide internships.
That would be bitter for FOS / BOS
“Usually, lessons and internships alternate in blocks of several weeks. In the past, this has also relieved staff at school, which we may not have in the fall. ”For FOS / BOS, the absence of internships would be bitter for another reason, as Stichlmeyr explains:“ They belong to ours professional profile.
