Damascus-Sana
The Ministry of Education confirmed to owners of private educational institutions not to increase their annual premiums only after obtaining their approval, noting that the deadline for receiving requests to increase the premiums is 15-20-2020.
The ministry asked its directorates in the governorates to circulate in a circular that Sana received a copy of it to inform the owners of the institutions not to increase the premiums before obtaining the ministry’s approval of assets under penalty of taking legal measures against the violator from them and holding those responsible to supervise them if they were not informed about them.
The Ministry indicated that it is necessary to adhere to the provisions of Article 37 of the executive instructions of Legislative Decree No. 55 of 2004 in relation to other service fees and additional benefits, including transportation for students and the price of clothing and enrichment books, provided that the private educational institution informs the Directorate of Education and its parents annually annually before registration.
The Ministry pointed out that withholding this information is an explicit violation that requires accountability in light of the relevant articles and directing the owners of private educational institutions wishing to increase their annual premiums by raising their proposal for the increase as a maximum date until 15-7-2020 and no application is considered after its date.
The Ministry had requested all its directorates in all governorates to inform the owners of private educational institutions to provide them with the annual school tuition for the academic year 2020-2021 to be studied and approved as assets.
