MG ZS EV, an electric SUV for less than € 30,000

NEWS - Now owned by the Chinese SAIC Motor, the MG brand is about to launch a zero-emission SUV at a very attractive price.


Announced in July of last year, the return of the MG brand to Europe is fast becoming a reality. It is based, firstly, on the marketing of a compact 100% electric SUV 4.31 m long, 1.80 m wide and 1.64 m high. Called ZS EV, this model is powered by an electric module with a power of 105 kW (143 hp) and a torque of 353 Nm. The electric motor is powered by a 44 kWh lithium-ion battery. It recharges to 80% in 40 minutes on a fast charging station and in 7 hours 50 on direct current. The battery capacity would allow a range of 263 km according to the WLTP standard.

Already, the manufacturer is able to announce, purposely to reassure motorists, that its SUV has obtained the rating of five stars in the crash test of the Euro NCAP. In detail, the MG ZS EV obtained the following results: protection of adults (90%), children (85%), pedestrians (64%) and safety assistance (70%). In the field of electronic driving aids, the Chinese electric SUV has the MG Pilot L2 + system which integrates lane change assistance coupled with adaptive cruise control, lane change warning, autonomous emergency braking with cyclist protection (AEB Cyclist) and level 2 autonomous driving assistance technology.

The main advantage of this new electric vehicle remains its very competitive price. From 29,990 euros, excluding bonuses, in Comfort version. The Luxe version, including a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch rims, heated seats and the blind spot monitoring system, costs an additional 2,000 euros.
