Today, President Bashar Al-Assad issued Decree No. 121 of 2020 to postpone the elections for members of the People's Assembly for the third legislative session until next July 19, as part of the precautionary measures that the state is taking to tackle the Corona virus.

The following is the text of the decree ..

Decree No. 121

President of the Republic

According to the provisions of Article 62 of the Constitution.

And the provisions of the General Elections Law No. 5 of 2014.

Draws the following ..

Article 1 - The elections for members of the People's Assembly for the third legislative session specified by Decree No. 86 of 2020 dated 20-5-2020 shall be postponed to Sunday corresponding to 7-7-20 A.D.

Article 2 - This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette.
